The Aalto House and Studio Aalto
_went there at the wrong time . The tours inside of the house and the studio start in the next 5 hours . Well, it was quite unfortunate ,and a peek through the windows was all that i can do to see what’s inside. That, of course , calls for a new visit in the future .
People of that time (1935-1936) , finds the house a bit weird , in comparison with other houses in the same neighbourhood of Munkkiniemi

“Architectural art can not be created in an office-like environment” – Alvar Aalto
The blocks of the building conceals this amphitheatre in the courtyard area. With the harsh brick white wall rendered soft by the climbing plants.

Greeted by the chirps of the birds , the whistle of summer wind and timeless beauty of Aalto’s home.
The Aalto House (1936)

The Temppeliaukio church was designed by the Suomalainen brothers in 1968. Concrete ribs surrounded and supported the copper central dome , whilst allowing the natural sunlight to lit up the interior of the church through the skylights. The interiors were built straight out of solid rock , hence the name , Church of the Rock

6 countries , 15 cities .
Of dozen of train-rides , passing through Italian countrysides, enjoying the breathtaking Italian Riviera, solo excitement of hopping on and off the coastal cities along the French Riviera, spending the cold night at Marseille Airport with strangers to catch a 6 am flight to Valencia the day after ( i could barely sleep ) , mistakenly booked a Riomaggiore guest house in 2016, worn out and lost in Rome in the middle of the night, witnessing the billionaires’ playground of Monte Carlo, to stand upon the great artworks by Michelangelo and Bernini in Vatican City, climbing hundreds of stairs while carrying 65l of backpack in Riomaggiore ( oooh i can still remember the exhaustion and the pain ) ,’joyful’ night bus ride from Valencia to Granada and certainly drooling over architecture marvels.
And to have one bunch of great people around , it was priceless.

Modernisme in Barcelona
Barcelona is famously known for its architectural gift to the world , the Modernisme movement that erupted in the late 19th century .
It was almost impossible to just walk straight without admiring every single buildings on the street.Exquisite details in ceramics, irons and stained glass with shimmering mosaics , and sculptural elements gracing across the city of Barcelona . This Modernisme (Catalan modernism) was an art and literature movement in Barcelona. This movement was expressed in architecture and the decorative arts, which were particularly important, especially in their role as support to architecture .
In 1869, an architect, Ildefons Cerdà was responsible to design a new district that was called L’Eixample, where he drew large boulevards on a gridlike layout and envisioned plenty of green space in the neighbourhoods. With overwhelmed interest from upper-class residents , the architects were in demand to personified the properties in that new district.
