Visit Malaya : a Revival
Projek Keretapi Muzium Negeri Pahang
Back in time , travelling on a train was an exquisite and exotic journey . Over the years , this experience is forgotten and this proposal remains pure and true to its original form, reviving the coaches to their former glory days by enhancing pops of colours. The design is to elevate the identity, history and cultural heritage of trains in Malaysia by paying homage to the past, present and future.
Historically, jungle ways and riverways were often used as a path for transportation as a source of movement for the population. Before the presence of the British, there were little need for proper road thus, people crossed the thick tropical forest via narrow earthen rocks using local animals. The existing train will be rebranded with a new sleek finish, with a splash pop of colours. The surrounding of the train will be intergrated with landscape and tropical plants that elevates the experience to the gallery.
A Continuation (Evolution)
Gallery : Breath of Configuration
The early 20th century saw the completion of numerous connections that allowed rail travellers to travel further than before. New frontiers in the north and east of the peninsular suddenly become easily accessible. The gallery continues with a different configuration of planning, still utilising the tracks from the roof of carriage that flows downwards acting also as a exhibition space.
First Class Ticket (Wanderlust)
Gift Shop : A Voyage of Surprises
Sometime in the mid 1920s, plans were put in place to entice ocean passengers on route to the Far East to take a short detour and visit Malaya. A first-class single fare of 20 Straits dollars between Penang and Singapore came into existence for this very reason. The souvenir/gift shop will be equipped with fresh splashes of colours to evoke a sense of exclusivity and elegance. The idea is to create this new age space that showcases the brand and gifts.
